English Title: Painted Skin
Year: 2008

Running Time: 115 min
Director: Gordon Chan
Genre: Drama/Action/Thriller

The first movie form my movie nights!
I badly want to watch this when i saw the trailer last year October!
And now i have it and watch it!

My first though!
Boring and slow!
I really though that
It was very slow in the beginning
That keeps for an hour!
And after it went fast and exciting!
That turn the beat on in the movie!
But too bad for the opening
It could be better!

This movie is adapted from 'Dark Tales'
Ghost stories
But instead to give this movie a Horror genre!
They make it a 'Love Story'!

Nice special effects and fights ^^

Excellent work of Zhou Xun & Zhao Wei!
They really rocks!

I really like Zhou Xun after Ming Ming the movie!
She's way cool
And i also got All About Women!
Gonna watch it these days!
For this movie she received a nomination @ HK Film Awards 2009 for Best Actress
But she didn't won

Zhao Wei is one of my favo from Mainland China
Pearl Princess was my favorite and my first buy serie ^^
Because of her!
I'm still looking for the movie The Longest Night In Shanghai!

And also from Betty Sun Li
I only saw her in serie before where she's only co-starring!
But from this view a pretty woman in men's clothes!
For this movie she received a nomination @ HK Film Awards 2009 for Best Supporting Actress
But she didn't won

Chen Kun could be better i think!
I more hate his character because don't believe in his wife!
But other side women are so attractive

Also first movie that i watched from Qi YuWu
The super star from Singapore!
Great Job

Summary:
Although the film is based partly on a supernatural premise, it is more of a love story rather than a horror film. Painted Skin is based on Pu Songling's classic novel, Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio. Zhou Xun stars as Xiao Wei, a fox spirit that feasts on human hearts in order to maintain her lovely, youthful appearance. When General Wang Sheng 'rescues' her from a band of bandits and brings her home, trouble brews as the demon falls in love with the general, who is married to Pei Rong.

Another older love triangle is present, between the general's brother Pang Yong, Wang Sheng, and his wife. Pei Rong asks Pang Yong for help as she suspects Xiao Wei for what she really is. Pang Yong is aided by an inexperienced 'demon buster', Xia Bing. Hints of a developing relationship between Xia Bing and Pang Yong are there, although this is never fully explored. Another subplot revolves around Xiao Wei's demon ally, who is actually morphed from a lizard, and who also has unreciprocated feelings for Xiao Wei and helps her obtain all the human hearts she needs.

Cast:
Donnie Yen - Pang Yong
Zhou Xun - Xiao Wei
Zhao Wei - Pei Rong
Chen Kun - Wang Sheng
Betty Sun - Xia Bing
Qi Yu Qu -
David Leong - Xia Hou Xiang
